Former New Zealand skipper Brendon McCullum turned 36 on September 27 this year. The cricket fraternity sent in regards and well wishes for him on the occasion. Among all the tweets and wishes that he received on the day, the one that caught the attention of many was of veteran Indian cricketer Suresh Raina.
Raina and McCullum are known to be great friends. They have played quite a lot of cricket together in the Indian Premier League. The camaraderie that they share among themselves is something that the fans absolutely adore. Brendon McCullum and Suresh Raina were a part of the Chennai Super Kings franchise in the IPL. They formed a solid pair in the CSK top order and were a nightmare for the oppositions.
In the last couple of editions, when the CSK went out of the IPL roster serving their suspension period, McCullum was again a part of the same team where Suresh Raina played. He played under the captaincy of Raina in the Gujarat Lions team. Time and again, both players have expressed their awe for one another.
During the IPL this year, Suresh Raina had gifted a bat to McCullum’s son as well. It was a very sweet gesture on the behalf of the Indian cricketer who had the most perfect gift for the young kid. Now, he came up with a warm birthday wish for senior McCullum. He wished all the success and happiness for McCullum.
“May God bless you with lots of success and happiness @Bazmccullum Happy Birthday brother,” tweeted Suresh Raina.
