Indian cricketer Suresh Raina whose name was not included in the Indian squad for the ODI series against Sri Lanka has now taken up the grueling path of the domestic circuit to script his comeback. The left handed genius is all set to take part in the Duleep Trophy for Uttar Pradesh and he decided to take some tips from the very best in the game.
Suresh Raina met the Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar ahead of the tournament which is scheduled start from the first or second week of September. Raina has been working his hearts out in order to make his way into the national team once again which includes rigorous gym schedules and net practices. There is no doubt over the fact that a little bit of guidance from the legendary Sachin Tendulkar will help him improve.
The main story:
Sachin Tendulkar who is a pretty active personality on social media platform Twitter took to the social media platform to express his happiness on meeting his old teammate. Tendulkar in his tweet shared a picture where Raina can be seen taking in some fruitful advice from the iconic batsman. Sachin paired the picture up with writing a line about his feelings on meeting Raina. Tendulkar stated that it is always good to meet the Uttar Pradesh cricketer and also wished him all the luck for the upcoming Duleep Trophy.
Sachin’s tweet read “Always great catching up with you, @ImRaina! My best wishes for the #DuleepTrophy!”.
Suresh Raina was hopeful of making it into the Indian ODI squad for Sri Lanka after having a brilliant campaign in the 10th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The batsman was present in the evaluation camp at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru while the Indian Team locked horns with the Lions in the Test format. While Mahendra Singh Dhoni successfully made it to the ODI squad, Suresh Raina was ignored for the tour along with Yuvraj Singh. Raina became emotional after missing out on a berth and it is believed that the failure to pass the yo-yo Test at the NCA resulted in the omission.
