Indian skipper Virat Kohli is arguably the best batsman of modern-day cricket. The swashbuckling top-order batsman added another feather to his illustrious international career as he became the fastest batsman to reach the remarkable feat of 12,000 runs in One Day Internationals. Kohli registered this prestigious record on his name during the final of the three-match series against Australia at Manuka Oval in Canberra.
Virat surpassed the batting legend Sachin Tendulkar becoming the fastest to reach the milestone. The Delhi Stalwart completed a mammoth 12,000 runs in One Day format during his 242nd innings while Tendulkar had achieved this feat in his 300th ODI innings. As the Indian skipper reached this milestone, congratulatory wishes started pouring from all over the cricket fraternity.
Amongst all the tweets, one wish for the Indian skipper that grabbed the attention of the people on social media was made by IPL franchise Mumbai Indians top-order batsman Suryakumar Yadav. There were speculations of bad blood between Virat Kohli and Suryakumar after the two were involved in a sledging episode in the just-concluded 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Meanwhile, Surya openly expressed his admiration for Kohli as he praised the right-hander for reaching the milestone of 12,000 ODI runs in the international circuit via his official Twitter handle. The Mumbai player tweeted, “Fastest to reach another Milestone @imVkohli 12,000 Runs in ODI cricket. What a Player #AUSvIND #IndianCricketTeam #TheBrand”.
Virat Kohli’s innings in the third ODI against Australia came to an end in the 32nd over as he hammered 63 runs with the willow off 78 deliveries. His knock included 5 boundaries at a strike rate of 80.77. With this, the Indian skipper is the second-highest run-scorer in ODI cricket for India, with Tendulkar leading the list with 18,426 runs to his name from 463 matches.
As far as the match is concerned, Ravindra Jadeja and Hardik Pandya stitched a 150 runs+ partnership for the sixth wicket to guide the Indian team’s total to 302 runs in 50 overs. While Pandya smashed unbeaten 92 runs off 76 balls, Jadeja remained not out with 66 runs in 50 deliveries. Australia couldn’t reach the target as they lost the game by 13 runs.
