Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput wasted no time in wishing the influential cricketer a very happy birthday. Sushant Singh Rajput played the role of MS Dhoni in his biopic, which was a smash hit at the box office.
The biopic was titled ‘MS: Dhoni – The Untold Story’ which took us through the extraordinary journey of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. From his days of a ticket collector to winning the ICC Cricket World Cup for India, the movie brought everything under the scanner.
The tweet:
Sushant, in his tweet, dedicated a dance performance of his which he will perform on the stages of Femina Miss India to the inventor of the famous helicopter shot. He also stated that Mahendra Singh Dhoni cannot be compared.
“His tweet read Happy Birthday My Captain. This coming #FeminaMissIndia performance is dedicated to you. There’s No one like u MahendraJi.#HappyBirthdayMSD”. There is no doubt over the fact that the actor is a huge fan of the cricketer. Rajput has been seen several times during the IPL cheering for the Ranchi-born icon.
Dhoni had a decent West Indies tour as India clinched the series 3-1. Captain Virat Kohli applauded the efforts of Mahi in the second ODI when he stood up to the occasion. Dhoni’s crucial knock of 78 runs came at a time when the Indian batting line up was in desperate need of runs. He rode the team to a respectable total of 251 runs and the Indian bowlers did a brilliant job to bundle out the Windies way short of the target.
It will be interesting to see the reply from MS to Sushant Singh Rajput’s tweet. However, this gave us another example of the strong relationship between cricket and Bollywood, two of the biggest industries in India.
