Sushant Singh Rajput mocks IIFA after losing out on the best actor award
Rajput upset about not winning the best actor awards for playing MS Dhoni
‘MS Dhoni- the Untold Story’ star Sushant Singh Rajput expressed his disappointment at missing out on the Best Actor Awards on Twitter by mocking the decision made by the jury. Shahid Kapoor went on to receive the accolade for his performance in ‘Udta Punjab’. Varun Dhawan was presented with the Best Performance in a Comic Role Award for his role in Dishoom.
Anupam Kher was the only prominent personality from the MS Dhoni biopic who was recognised by the jury. He went on to receive the ‘Best Actor In A Supporting Role’ for playing Pan Singh Dhoni. Ali Bhatt was awarded the Best Actress for her role in Udta Punjab.
Sushant Singh Rajput put in the hard yards while training for one of the most challenging roles in Indian cinema. Rajput successfully played the role of most prominent Indian captain by replicating all his trademark shots and honing his cricketing skills. Therefore, it was expected that SSR would be sweeping off all the awards for best acting performance in this year’s award shows. Here’s a video of Sushant Singh Rajput trying to model his batting mannerism with that of MS Dhoni.
However, Shahid Kapoor, who played the role of drug abusing rock star in ‘Udta Punjab’, was chosen over Sushant’s performance in MS Dhoni- the Untold Story. The other nominees were Amitabh Bachchan for ‘Pink’, Salman Khan for ‘Sultan’, Shahrukh Khan for ‘Fan’, Ranbir Kapoor for ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Rajput took to Twitter to mock the decision made by IIFA with a simple @IIFA hahahaha.
Here’s the Tweet
His Tweet left many befuddled but a reply from one of his followers accused the jury of partiality and giving the star kids like Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt and others priority, thanks to the Godfather rule of Karan Johar, who keeps on providing opportunities to the well to do Industry families.
