Suspended Sri Lanka cricketers arrive home, enquiry to take place after 14 days

It was reported only a while back that Sri Lanka cricketers Kusal Mendis, Danushka Gunathilaka, and Niroshan Dikwella were sent back from England after violation of bio-bubble rules. They got suspended after violating bio-bubble rules post their three-match T20I series against England. In the latest turn of events, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) informed that those cricketers have reached the island nation.
The group of cricketers are quarantining in a hotel in Negombo. The rest of the Sri Lanka team is under a strict bio-bubble and will next play an ODI series against England. The ODI series between the two nations is all set to begin on June 29 in Durham. Earlier, A video clip got viral on social media where Mendis and Dikwella were seen roaming on the street of Durham.
As the video caught the attention of netizens, people started questioning the behavior of cricketers. People also raised fingers at their casual approach especially when they had lost all the T20I games against the hosts. Sri Lanka Cricket has also launched an investigation to check whether the actual breach happened or not. SLC also called for a report from the team manager to check the authenticity of the video.

“We will have an inquiry after they are out of their 14 day quarantine period,” SLC official said as quoted by The Wire.
Talking about Sri Lanka national team, its performance in recent times has put off all the fans and supporters. In fact, after their horrific loss against England, fans got furious and launched a social media attack. Fans and even experts stated that the island nation showed no intent to win the game. They were never in the game and presented a dull show to suffer a whitewash. Many notable personalities from Sri Lanka cricket also came up to talk about the team’s dismal runs.
Muttiah Muralitharan went on to say it didn’t even look like the team has ever played cricket and their image also got tarnished after this series.
