The 3rd day of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy saw its fair share of dramas and action and at the end of the day, we have completed 10 more matches. It’s a pretty hectic tournament where each and every team plays daily and after the completion of 5 matches, the table toppers in the group will be the eventual winners of the tournament. The day began with a win for Hyderabad as they edged past Kerala in a low-scoring thriller. With 40 required off the last 7 overs and with 9 wickets hand, Kerala failed to chase down the total and collapsed for 121 in pursuit of 127.

While Haryana defeated Services by 16 runs, Rajasthan emerged winners against Uttar Pradesh by 16 runs. Rahul Tewatia struck a scintillating 17 balls 40 to propel Haryana to 166 in their allotted 20 overs before the bowlers restricted Uttar Pradesh to 150. In the other match, Puneet Yadav scored a quickfire 61 to take Rajasthan to 169 before the bowlers restricted the opposition to 153 to hand them a 16 runs victory.

Bengal defeated Tripura in a nail-biting thriller at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata by 5 runs while Himachal Pradesh steamrolled Delhi by 48 runs. While Kanishk Seth was the standout performer for Bengal, Pankaj Jaiswal stood out for Himachal Pradesh with a four-wicket haul. Tamil Nadu crushed Goa by 9 wickets in a one-sided affair, while Karnataka romped home by 37 runs against Andhra at the Chepauk.

Vidarbha defeated Railways comprehensively by 23 runs while Odisha defeated Jharkhand in a nail-biting thriller at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Akshay Karnewar’s quickfire 20 balls 42 was instrumental in getting Vidarbha to 173. Captain Abhishek Yadav played a match winnings innings of 27 of 18 balls to take Odisha over the finishing line. In the last match of the day Jammu and Kashmir defeated Punjab by 26 runs. Umar Nazir was the Man of the Match for his exceptional bowling figures. He finished with 4/15.
