The Syed Mushtaq Ali Zonal T20 League saw some enthralling games on Tuesday with one big surprise and a lot of last over contests. Tamil Nadu and Hyderabad registered two decent victories down in the south whilst Punjab and Delhi played the game of the day. Ranji champions Vidarbha were ruthless in their game and registered another victory.

The biggest surprise of the day came in the game between Karnataka and Andhra. Opting to bat first, Karnataka posted 156 runs losing 8 wickets. Stuart Binny was the only player who put in a decent performance with the bat. Andhra reciprocated in a grandstanding way, chasing the total down in 18.2 overs. Ricky Bhui and Ravi Teja did a great job chasing the total and earned a big win for their side.

Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh played an absolute cracker in the Central Zone game at Raipur. After posting 146 runs on the board batting first, Uttar Pradesh firmly had control over the game for a major while. But Mahipal Lomror and Aditya Garhwal stroked their way out of trouble and helped Rajasthan clinch a victory off the penultimate ball of the match.

Hyderabad is off to a cracking start in the South Zone, producing another brilliant performance against Goa. Discarded Indian batsman Ambati Rayudu once again lead his side from the front. They posted a huge 181-run total on the board, to which their bowlers reacted really well. Goa got bundled out for 162 runs and Rayudu’s side are firmly in contention to race their way towards the knockouts.

Vohra and Yuvraj propel Punjab to clinch a thrilling win

Without a shadow of a doubt, Punjab and Delhi played the game of the day in the North Zone group. After posting 170/3 on the back of fifties from Manan Vohra and Yuvraj Singh, Punjab faced the heat with the ball. Gautam Gambhir sent a strong message with a wonderful knock of 66 from 52 balls. Rishabh Pant played a cameo as well, but they fell two runs short of the target.

Tamil Nadu’s amazing run doesn’t seem like ending soon. Batting first against Kerala, they posted 184 runs on the board. Dinesh Karthik fired a scintillating 71 off 38 balls with Jagadeesan and Baba Aparaith playing crucial cameos. Kerala could only manage 149 runs as their top order failed to stick around for long. Tamil Nadu clinched a 35-run win which boosted their net run rate.
