SoBo SuperSonics will be desperate to get back to winning ways when they take on Shivaji Park Lions in the 17th match of the ongoing T20 Mumbai League. The SuperSonics’ winning start to the season came to an end on Tuesday. They, however, are still at the top of the points table with 3 wins from four games. The Lions, however, are fast running out of time to save their season. With three defeats from as many games, they are languishing at the bottom of the points table and another defeat could very well sink their season.

In their last outing, the SuperSonics suffered a crushing 4-wicket loss at the hands of NaMo Bandra Blasters. Asked to bat first, the SuperSonics ended up on 151 for 8. Quite a number of their batsmen got the starts but failed to convert it into big scores. In reply, the Blasters chased down the total with four wickets in hands and as many balls remaining. With the tournament set to enter its business phase, the SuperSonics would be keen to get back to winning ways.

The Lions, on the other hand, suffered their third consecutive defeat when Triumphs Knights MNE thrashed them by eight wickets. Siddhesh Lad’s decision to bat first turned out to be a poor one as his team managed a paltry total of 125 for 9 in the allotted 20 overs. As many as six players failed to cross the single-digit mark while only two batsmen crossed the 20-run mark with Hardik Tamore’s 40 being the highest score. In reply, the Knight chased down the total inside 16 overs by losing just a couple of wickets.

The Wankhede pitch continues to remain an enigma this season as a particular trend is just not developing. However, a total above 160 is looking like a winning total at this pitch although teams batting second have a better chance of winning.
