There’s no dearth of talent and T20 leagues in India. Barely a couple of days after the 12th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) came to a close with the Mumbai Indians lifting the title, the T20 Mumbai League got underway. The Wankhede Stadium is hosting all the matches of the second season of the tournament.

Some of the big stars of Mumbai cricket, those with the name, who’ve made it count at domestic, international and IPL level, the likes of Aditya Tare, Siddhesh Lad, Suryakumar Yadav, Prithvi Shaw are participating in the T20 Mumbai league. The tournament is nearing its business end with just a couple of days remain in the group stages. Hence, it’s a good time to assess the performances of some of the big stars playing the tournament.

1. Suryakumar Yadav – 188 runs (4 games)

Suryakumar Yadav who played a significant role in Mumbai Indians’ triumphant IPL 2019 campaign has led the Triumph Knights Mumbai North East from the front. So far in the tournament, Suryakumar has scored 188 runs which include a couple of half-centuries. He has an average of 94.00 and a strike-rate of 133.33.

The 28-year-old middle-order batsman has been the most consistent batsman in this tournament. In fact, he has been among the leading run-getter in this tournament. His unbeaten 90 which came in a losing cause was one of his highlights of the season. Triumph Knights MNE the defending champions are still in with a chance of making it to the top four and their skipper’s form has been one of the reasons for their success so far.
