Capitals pacer Avesh Khan has been one of the stories of this year’s IPL. Since the India leg to UAE, the pacer has hardly dropped a gear and has continued to take wickets consistently for his team. Also, he has worked on his fitness and it has reflected in his performance and good speeds throughout his spells of fast bowling.

While a lot of eyebrows were raised when skipper Pant threw him the ball to bowl the opening over ahead of Rabada, the decision was vindicated when he took wickets in the power play and during the middle phase of the innings. Avesh has been Pant’s go-to bowler and one of the most trusted pacers during this year’s IPL. Also, the youngster has learned a lot from the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Shami, and Siraj during the time he was with the Indian team as a net bowler in their recent Test series against England.
