Bangladesh are having a terrible campaign in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2021 Qualifiers in Oman. Their chances of making it to the Super 12 look slim as they lost their first match against Scotland on October 17 after losing their two warm-up games. As soon as the match got over, Bangladesh skipper Mahmudullah turned up to address their areas of concern in a post-match conference. However, there was another aspect that caught the attention of netizens.
As soon as Mahmudullah began speaking in Bengali, he was interrupted by fans cheering for Scotland as they played their national anthem continuously. He waited for a moment and tried to start again but was interrupted again by loud cheering by the fans. The video of the same was shared by ICC on their official IG handle.

Talking of the match between Bangladesh and Scotland, Scotland won the game by six runs after posting 140 runs on the board. It is clear that Bangladesh’s woes continue on foreign land as they failed to get going once again in front of an average score. It remains to be seen if they will be able to better up their chances going forward. Chris Greaves was declared as the player of the match for his crucial 45 off 28. Later, Cricket Scotland also took a sly dig on the Bangladesh skipper’s reaction.

We were missing that one big over in the middle: Mahmudullah
“I think the wicket was quite good and 140 was gettable. We were missing that one big over in the middle. Bowlers did their job really well but the batting unit weren’t good enough tonight. (If Bangladesh were complacent when Scotland were 53/6) Don’t think so, we were just one wicket away. Credit goes to their batters, they had a good finish. Yeah, when you can’t chase 140, there needs to be a look-in, need to correct the mistakes,” said Mahmudullah after the match.
“We still need to be positive and figure out where we made mistakes, and not try to repeat them. Beautiful wicket to bat on, fantastic ground and crowd, we need to pull our socks up and play better cricket,” he added.
