England and South Africa are all set to meet each other in the T20 World Cup Super 12 game. This will be the last fixture for both these teams in this round and they will be looking forward to the next round. The Proteas need to win and that too with a good margin to ensure they have a chance, which adds a little spice to this game. Nevertheless, it is a good chance for fans to collect fantasy points.
Here are three surprise picks for the England vs South Africa game:
1. Dawid Malan
The left-handed batter has recently been dethroned from his no. 1 T20I men’s batter rankings. Some of that has to be associated with his own batting form, which hasn’t been all that good in this tournament or leading into this. But, against South Africa, he will be fancying his chances. He is a good player of spin and there are two left-armers he will be facing. Though Tabraiz Shamsi will be a threat to him, his skills ensure he might be able to win that battle. If he does, he can even feed on Keshav Maharaj and the rest. Overall, he can prove to be a good bet.
2. Quinton de Kock
The talented wicketkeeper had started the year with some good scores under his belt. But, in this tournament, his numbers have been underwhelming, to say the least. However, his average signifies that he will come good at one point. A lot has happened in this tournament that has made his numbers drop, one would say. But, this could be his opportunity to fix those numbers and come good when his team requires him the most. On top of that, he assures any fan of at least one or two dismissals.
3. Dwaine Pretorius
The all-rounder has acted more like a death overs specialist during the course of this tournament. In four matches, he has managed to pick seven wickets with an average just above 10. He has shown a great level of consistency and the wickets have suited him. He might seem like the weak link in this bowling attack, but his performances have stood out. Any team with a successful fifth bowler is bound to have success and Pretorius and the Proteas have shown that in this tournament.
