T20 World Cup 2021: All the tickets of India-Pakistan game sold out hours into sale
70% crowds have been allowed in all the matches in the UAE.
There is a lot of excitement around the date October 24, 2021 when India and Pakistan are scheduled to play against each other in the T20 World Cup 2021 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The match will be the first game for both the teams in the mega event. The tickets went on sale recently and as expected, all of them were sold within just a few hours.
Earlier there was speculation where the two teams would get to play in front of the crowds due to COVID restrictions. However, the International Cricket Council (ICC) informed that the tournament will be played with 70% capacity in the stands. The capacity of Dubai International Cricket stadium is 25,000, which means around 18,500 seats will be available in each of the games at the venue during the T20 World Cup.
There is a lot of hype around a game between the arch-rivals, this time there is even more. This will be the first time these two teams will be playing against each other in a T20 match since 2016, which was also a World Cup match played in Kolkata. The last international match between these two teams was during the 50-overs World Cup back in 2019 in Manchester.
The costliest ticket is worth more than 50,000 INR
According to the report in Cricket Pakistan, the tickets for the T20 World Cup match on October 24 went on sale on Sunday, October 3. But, within hours all of those tickets were sold out. The seats in the sections which include the General, General East, Premium, Pavilion East, and Platinum, were all showing as sold out on the website where the tickets were listed for the tournament.
It was also reported that the fans were quick to log into the website within seconds of ICC announcing that the tickets were now available for purchase. There was a long wait time of about an hour with people queuing up. By the night on Sunday, the only tickets that were available were Premium and Platinum tickets.
The premium ticket was sold for 1,500 Dh which is equivalent to more than INR 30,000 while the platinum tickets were being sold for 2,600 Dh which is close to INR 52,500. By Monday morning, both these tickets were unavailable on the website.
