T20 World Cup 2021: Mentor MS Dhoni turns throwdown specialist in the nets for team India

Soon after the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), all the heads turned towards MS Dhoni who donned the mentor’s hat for the first time for team India. Ever since he has joined team India for the mega event, all the eyes are on the veteran and his role in the side. When it is Dhoni, the limelight is always on him and no wonder, the BCCI is also making sure the fans get all the information about their favourite player.

Despite being the mentor, MS Dhoni was seen working with the wicketkeepers Ishan Kishan and Rishabh Pant during the warm-ups. He was also seen having one-on-one chats with the players of the squad. Meanwhile, the official Twitter handle of BCCI has revealed another new avatar of Dhoni ahead of the Super 12 stage of the T20 World Cup.

India is gearing up for the marquee clash against Pakistan on Sunday and MS Dhoni turned throwdown specialist for the team in the nets. BCCI posted the pictures of the same as the fans rejoiced watching him don another new role.

MS Dhoni will definitely play a huge role in the India dressing room during the T20 World Cup. Apart from spending time with the youngsters in the team, he will surely be involved in making crucial decisions and has, multiple times, been spotted being involved in intense discussions with skipper Virat Kohli and head coach Ravi Shastri.

Team India will be getting their campaign underway on October 24 (Sunday) against arch-rivals Pakistan. They will be facing Afghanistan, New Zealand, Scotland and Namibia in their remaining Super 12 matches and the fans will be hoping for them to make it to the knockouts of the tournament. This is also the last ICC event for Virat Kohli as the T20 captain having announced his decision to step down from the position during the IPL itelf.
