The Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib al Hasan is all set to join the national team for the T20 World Cup, traveling by road. He will leave to regroup with the Bangladesh squad after the completion of the final match of the Indian Premier League. The Bangladesh Cricket Board selector Habibul Bashar came forward to confirm the same. Owing to the bio-bubble restriction, Shakib took the decision to avoid air travel and opted to go by road.
“As far as I know, Shakib will join the team by traveling by road. He will not take the risk of air flight. Since it will be a bubble to bubble transfer, so there will be no quarantine issue,” said Bashar as reported by Cricfrenzy.
Bangladesh will kick start its World Cup campaign against Scotland. The two teams will lock horns against each other at the Oman Cricket Academy ground in Muscat on October 17.
Shakib Al Hasan on KKR’s journey in IPL 2021
Kolkata Knight Riders did not have an impressive season in the first half of the tournament. However, the Eoin Morgan side bounced back stronger in the UAE leg of the IPL. Shakib Al Hasan did not play in the initial games of the second leg but when he got into the side, the all-rounder fetched in some impressive performances.
KKR beat RCB in the Eliminators to make it to the Qualifiers 2 and then emerged triumphant against Delhi to book their seats for the finals. Reflecting on the team’s performance Shakib said to the KKR website, “The process we have been following so far, we will be following the same formula. Ever since we got to Abu Dhabi or the UAE, we were in a knockout mode and we have been overcoming all of those challenges one by one. A good thing about our team now is that the confidence level we are developing within the camp, no team will take us lightly.
“Pressure is always going to be there. But as professional players, we end up learning how to cope with it. Because I’ve been playing for so long and been representing my national team for so long, I’ve developed an ability to handle this kind of pressure,” he added.
