Asif Ali has been severely criticized by his own countrymen of late. While he hasn’t been in the best of form, several cricket pundits believe that he shouldn’t have even been in the T20 World Cup squad in the first place. Despite all the potential, the middle order batsman is yet to impress the fans of his team.

He was awful in the recently concluded Caribbean Premiere League (CPL) too. The middle order batsman had a batting average and strike rate of just 25.4 and 121.65 respectively. He last played a T20I match against Zimbabwe where he scored one in the second T20I.

Before that, he played a T20I against the Proteas and failed over there as well. However, the selectors have still shown faith in him owing to his abilities. It is to be seen if he can prove his critics wrong.
