The T20 World cup 2021 has kick-started successfully on the 17th of October at UAE and the four teams to get qualified for the super 12’s are Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Scotland, and Namibia. All the 12 teams have been divided equally into two groups and both of those seem to be tough and equally competitive.

The teams announced their 15-men squad earlier and all of them have a balanced chart in terms of the roles as well as the ages of their players. This edition of the World Cup features players from an age bracket from as low as 19 and goes up to 42.

The youngest team of the tournament is Bangladesh and Sri Lanka with an average age of the players being 26.53 and the oldest team is England with an average age of 31.33. Every team has well-experienced senior players and also some young players in their squad. Here is the list of teams with their

Youngest player-Rahmanullah Gurbaz:

The youngest player not only in Afghanistan’s team but also in the tournament is Rahmanullah Gurbaz and his age at present is 19. He is the only teenager to take part in the tournament this year. This teen represented the Afghanistan under-19 cricket World Cup in 2017. He also became the leading run-scorer of the Afghanistan U-19 team in Asia cup-2019.

This wicket-keeping-batter made into the national T20 side against Zimbabwe in 2019 and has played 13 matches. He debuted in ODI against Ireland in 2021 and became the first player to score a century in a debut match for Afghanistan. This young gun is expected to perform the way he played in his debut match.

Youngest player-Josh Inglis:

Josh Inglis is an Australian wicketkeeping batter who is of age 26. He has been impressive with his sharp wicketkeeping skills and innovative shots. Though he has not represented his National side yet, he has been a consistent performer in their first class and Big Bash League matches.

This is his maiden call-up to the national team and how special it would be to represent the national side for the first time on a mammoth stage like this. His whacking career strike rate of 143.45 in the BBL has impressed the selectors.

The selectors picked him in the place of Alex Carey and they mention him as one of the players who could play spin well and also could provide different finishing abilities by playing all around the ground. His flexibility to open the innings as well as to bat in the middle orders has increased his chance of playing in the team later.

Oldest player-David Warner:

David Warner, known as one of the most aggressive batters of the Australian side is the oldest player in the squad. He brings in a lot of experience to their group. He comes under the list of top-10 players with the most number of runs in the T20 International career.

His rusty form in 2021 IPL at UAE has been a worrying factor for the Aussies. Though, a player of his standards just requires a single match to a change in form. He has been a match-winner for their crew many times and hope he could contribute well to his team again.

He has represented the Bangladesh T20I team for a total of 11 matches and has been so consummate by picking up 17 wickets with an economy of 7.97. With the guidance of Mustafizur Rahman, he could be handy for his troupe.

He has made 105 T20I appearances for the team having 1860 runs with the bat and 33 wickets with an economy of 7.19. As a senior-most player in the squad, his stint would be valuable for their team.

He hasn’t been so appealing with his bowling economy over the years. But, his ability to swing the ball and his variations in the pace along with some adroit to contribute with the bat could be effective if he uses his potential to the fullest.
