IPL 2025 Schedule
The Indian Premier League (IPL) is all set to return with its 18th edition, scheduled from March 22 to May 25, 2025. With 10 teams and a total of 74 matches across 13 venues, IPL 2025 is ready to bring entertainment and the highest level of cricketing action together.
The season opener will see defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) locking horns with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata on March 22. The very next day, IPL 2025 will see its first double-header, with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) taking on Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the afternoon in Hyderabad, followed by a blockbuster clash in the evening between five-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Other fixtures include Delhi Capitals (DC) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) beginning their campaign in Visakhapatnam on March 24. The world’s largest cricket stadium, Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, will host the Gujarat Titans (GT) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) on March 25. Rajasthan Royals will split their home games between Jaipur and Guwahati, while the Punjab-based franchise will host matches in New Chandigarh and Dharamsala.
Meanwhile, to maintain the quality of pitches and ground conditions, the BCCI has introduced new regulations for IPL 2025. Teams will be allowed a maximum of seven practice sessions and two warm-up games or centre wicket practice sessions. The knockout phase will be hosted in Hyderabad and Kolkata. Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator will take place in Hyderabad on May 20 and May 21, respectively. The action will then shift to Kolkata, where Qualifier 2 is set for May 23. The grand finale of IPL 2025 will take place on May 25.
