Maharashtra Premier League (MPL) 2023 Schedule

The 2023 season of the Maharashtra Premier League (MPL) got underway on Thursday, June 15, with Puneri Bappa locking horns with Kolhapur Tuskers in the curtain raiser. Notably, all of the fixtures will be hosted at the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) Stadium in Pune, with the summit clash to be played on Thursday, June 29.

As many as six teams are part of the two-week long event representing teams from Pune, Kolhapur, Nashik, Sambhaji, Ratnagiri and Solapur. The six teams in the fray are as follows- Puneri Bappa, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Kings, Eagle Nashik Titans, Kolhapur Tuskers, Solapur Royals, and Ratnagiri Jets.

The format of the competition is such that each team will play every other team twice in a round-robin fashion followed by the knockout stages. For the unversed, MPL was the first T20 tournament organised by a state committee which was started in 2009.

However, after three seasons, the competition was stalled and is now revived nearly after a decade. Going by the MPL winners list, Raigad Royals won the inaugural season in 2009 followed by Sinhagad Supremos in 2010 and Devgiri Emperors in 2011. The six teams participating in the ongoing season will look to come all guns blazing and clinch the coveted title on June 29.
