Vitality Blast 2024: Rare no-ball occurs which saves Cadmore
The 22nd edition of the T20 Blast, also called as Vitality Blast is set to commence on Thursday, May 30. Last year, Warwickshire, Lancashire, Worcestershire, and Nottinghamshire qualified from the North Group. Meanwhile, Somerset, Hampshire, Surrey, and Essex made it to the knockouts from the South Group. In the summit clash, Somerset defeated Essex by 14 runs to win the title.
The eight teams in the North Group are Warwickshire, Derbyshire, Durham, Lancashire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire, Worcestershire, and Yorkshire. Meanwhile, the South Group comprises Essex, Glamorgan, Gloucestershire, Hampshire, Kent, Middlesex, Somerset, Surrey, and Sussex.
The top four teams from each group will make it to the quarterfinals. There will be a lot of T20 action for the fans to enjoy during the time of the T20 Blast 2024. The T20 World Cup is overlapping the league. Also, the second edition of the Major League Cricket (MLC) will start in July and will end in August.
The four quarterfinals will be held in the first week of September. The two semifinals and the all-important final will take place in Birmingham on September 14. Last year, James Vince finished as the leading run-getter, with 670 runs from 16 games at an average of 60.91. Meanwhile, Matt Henry was the highest wicket-taker, with 31 scalps from 14 games at an average of 13.26. It will be interesting to see who ends with Vitality Blast 2024 Most Runs and Vitality Blast 2024 Most Wickets. Several T20 stalwarts will be in action during the league as fans are guaranteed to witness some riveting action during the English summer.
