Women's T20 World Cup 2024 Schedule
The stage is all set for the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 as the marquee event will be held in the UAE and will begin on October 3. The first game of the season will be played between Bangladesh women and Scotland women at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. It is worth noting that the tournament was originally supposed to be held in Bangladesh, but due to the protests in the country, it had to be relocated.
Just like the previous seasons, the 2024 women’s T20 World Cup will also follow the round robin format. The 10 participating teams will be split into two groups of five, with the top two teams from each group progressing into the knockout stages of the tournament. Furthermore, each team will take on their opponents in the group only once, and hope to progress further into the competition. The side finishing in first in the standings will take on the second placed side in the second group and vice versa.
Beginning on October 3, the group stage will be held until October 15, and the first semi-final will be held on October 17. The final of the competition will be held at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, October 20.
The defending champions of the tournament are Australia women, after they won the 2023 edition in Cape Town. The side will once again look to defend their crown, but it will be no easy task seeing their competition in the tournament.
