Tabraiz Shamsi has a surprise for everyone

Tabraiz Shamsi has been drafted into the South African Test, ODI and T20I squad for their tour of Sri Lanka which commences from the second week of July. He made his debut back in 2016, but has never been able to cement his position in the team and has only played 13 international matches for his nation. Moreover, he made his comeback to the Test team after a gap of nearly a couple of years.

To multiply his joy apart from selection in the national team, the cricketer recently tied the knots with his fiancée. He took to Twitter and shared the delightful message with his supporters. He wrote, “Hi Guys What’s Up. I want to introduce you guys to somebody. Meet my beautiful bride. I just got married”

Deserving call to the team

Shamsi was in decent form in South Africa’s erstwhile four-day tournament with 13 wickets in 3 matches for the Titans with best bowling figures of 5/90. He also played in the domestic T20 event and was the leading wicket-taker with 16 wickets in 11 matches. He maintained an economy of 7, which meant that he was able to get a lid on the batsmen from going for their strokes.

Last year, the chinaman made his T20I debut versus England at Southampton and has played 5 contests in that format. He was also a part of the national squad which played against India earlier this year. In the first match, the left-armer got rid of Virat Kohli, who is considered to be a proficient player of spin.

Prior to that, he also represented the Proteas in the five-match ODI series versus the Men in Blue where he went wicketless in the two matches he played. The 28-year old tweaker will now be keen to compile some impressive performance and stay put in his position for further assignments.
