Tamil Nadu announces Ranji Trophy 2017-18 probables
Former Indian cricketer Hrishikesh Kanitkar will take up the role of the head coach in the side.
The Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) chief selectors have named the 26-member probables list for the upcoming edition of the Ranji Trophy. The Ranji Trophy 2017-18 will kick off on October 6 this year. The selection committee that named the probables list comprised of the following members: S Sharath (Chairman), D Girish, and P Subbiah.
The list includes some big names as well as some rookie names that made news during the Tamil Nadu Premier League this season. The Indian international Test players Murali Vijay and Abhinav Mukund have been named in the team. Veteran wicket-keeper batsman and former skipper Dinesh Karthik has also been named in the list. Among the young players, Washington Sundar and Rahil Shah find their places in the list.
Both players recently played for the India Board President XI in the warm-up fixture against Australia. Among other notable mentions, the names of S Radhakrishnan, T Natarajan, Vijay Shankar, and Baba Aparajith are the prominent ones. The selectors also named the support staff for the upcoming domestic season.
