As MS Dhoni celebrated his 40th birthday on July 07, fans, followers and fellow cricketers queued up in large numbers to wish the absolute legend. It is a known fact that the craze of MSD is immensely high in India and people don’t leave any chance to show their love for the hero. While several wished him on social media, there was an incident from Tamil Nadu that grabbed all the limelight.
MS Dhoni plays for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL ever since the inception of the league and captains it even today. Therefore, the fans and followers from the state of Tamil Nadu connect to him on a different level. On the occasion of his 40th birthday, people from the state of Tamil Nadu created a 40ft huge banner to give him tribute.
The gigantic banner had several photos from his playing days and holding various trophies. It also had pictures of his Army days which displayed ‘Dynamic Hero of Nation India’. The size of the banner was indicative of the fan following and craze MS Dhoni has in India. Not only in India, but players outside the nation also appreciate and respect him in equal measures.
MS Dhoni remains to be one of the greatest heroes of the Indian cricket
Various cricketers went on to wish the legendary skipper on his birthday. Some called him the greatest skipper of India while some said that he has the finest cricketing brain in the world. Some also lauded him for having the quickest hands behind the stumps. He remains the only skipper in the world to have all the ICC trophies in his cabinet (the ICC WTC wasn’t introduced during his time). He got the 2007 WT20 trophy for India which was followed by the 2011 World Cup and finally had the 2013 Champions Trophy on his side.
After having a glorious career, the hero bid farewell to international cricket in August 2020 through a simple social media post. He will next be seen leading CSK in the UAE leg of the Indian Premier League to be played in September.
