Tamim Iqbal back PSL to become the second-best T20 League in the world
He also felt that Peshawar Zalmi is the best ever franchise he has ever played with.
Tamim Iqbal has showered praises on the ongoing third edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). He is representing the defending champions Peshawar Zalmi in the tournament. They are currently third on the points table with three wins in five matches and would be looking to repeat the heroics of the last season when they had won the tournament. However, Iqbal has backed PSL to become the second-best T20 league in the World given the standard of cricket being played.
Tamim has been one of the shining lights for the franchise this year and has scored 134 runs by featuring in all the five matches. However, he will not take further part in the tournament as Nidahas Trophy is commencing on March 6 in which Bangladesh will face India and Sri Lanka in the shortest format of the game. Also, it is not yet clear yet if he will come back to feature in the PSL for the knockouts.
Zalmi is one of the best franchises
Tamim Iqbal was all praise of the T20 League and felt he was lucky to have played in all the three editions of the tournament. He also happy to be associated with Peshawar Zalmi and termed them as the best franchise ever he had played.
“Playing in the PSL has been a great experience for me so far. As for Peshawar Zalmi, I am happy to say that this is amongst one of the best franchises I have played for during my career. I was lucky to have played in the first and second editions of the tournament and now I have the chance to play in PSL3 as well,” he said.
The 28-year-old also had some special words for the tournament and went on to say that it has the potential to become the second-best league in the World. “The PSL is a very special competition and it will continue to grow into something special. I can safely say with conviction that this is a fantastic tournament and has the potential and all the hallmarks to be the second best franchise-based T20 tournament in the world very soon,” he told Pak Passion.
