The Bangladeshi Tigers created history by beating the Aussies for the first time in the history of the longest format. The hosts thrashed the visitors by 20 runs to claim a 1-0 lead, in a thrilling 1st Test of the two-match Test series at Dhaka. The ever improving Bangladesh team showed the world its dominant side with an incredible and complete performance in home conditions.

On the other hand, the visiting Steve Smith-led Australian side once again revisited their sub-continent woes during the 1st Test at Dhaka. However, Aussie wicketkeeper-batsman Matthew Wade received a heated send off from Bangladeshi opener Tamim Iqbal, after the former was dismissed for just 4 runs in the fourth innings of the Test match.

The Test match had already witnessed a couple of heated arguments between the players of both the teams and the following incident adds to the intense rivalry between the two team. The visiting team’s batters didn’t show any fight after David Warner who scored only his second ton in Asia in the second innings and skipper Steve Smith were dismissed.

The whole incident came into light when a video surfaced on the social media as Tamim was giving Wade a send-off. He got dismissed leg-before to a superb delivery bowled by left-arm spinner Shakib Al Hasan at the score of just 4 runs.

Story of the match

On a pitch which was deteriorating with every session of play, batting was bound to be tough for the batters of both the teams. Bangladesh after posting 260 in the first innings were bowled out for 221 in the second. The target for the Aussies was 265 on a dustbowl in Dhaka.

In the fourth innings, the Smith-led Aussie team needed some major contributions from their top order, to make their way forward in a difficult chase. David Warner defied all odds, buried his sub continent ghosts and registered a hard-fought ton in the second innings. But after the left-hander and the skipper were dismissed it opened the flood gates and eventually the Bangladeshi bowlers were too good for the rest of the batters and they went on to register a historic win.
