Tamim Iqbal to be priced at 85 Lacs by Comilla Victorians in BPL 5
All the icon cricketers have been shuffled by their respective franchise authorities except Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah Riyad.
The Governing Council of the Bangladesh Premier League has decided that the price of the icon players for its 5th edition will be decided by the respective franchise authorities and the cricketers. According to reports, the price of the icon players will be settled after a discussion between both the parties.
Bangladesh star cricketer Tamim Iqbal will feature for Comilla Victorians in the upcoming season. The opening batsman represented the Chittagong Vikings in the previous two editions. It is believed that the franchise owners have decided to Tamim Iqbal’s price to be 85 Lac Bangladesh Standard Currency.

All the icon cricketers have been shuffled by their respective franchise authorities except Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah Riyad. Shakib Al Hasan will feature for Dhaka Dynamites whereas Mahmudullah Riyad will don the jersey of the Khulna Titans.
Mashrafe Bin Mortaza will be seen in his new team of Rangpur Riders in the forthcoming season. The prolific all-rounder was a member of the Comilla Victorians and was also the icon of the team last year. Mushfiqur Rahim will feature as the icon of the Rajshahi Kings. His previous team was the Barisal Bulls.
Newly owned franchise Surma Sixers Sylhet have roped in Sabbir Rahman, who is popularly known for his power hitting capabilities. Mustafizur Rahman, also known as the ‘Fizz’, is the icon player of Barisal Bulls. The young speedster is the main attraction in this edition of the tournament.
However, the Bangladesh Premier League is threatened by the new Global T20 League launch by Cricket South Africa. The Bangladesh Cricket Board, as well as the franchises, believe that BPL’s attraction will take a major hit because of the similar timings of both the leagues. The BPL might miss out on some big names from the world of cricket due to their participation in the Global T20 League. The BCB decided to reschedule a fixture of their league a little bit as they preponed the kickoff.
