Tamim, Mushfiqur and Mashrafe to change teams in the BPL

The fifth season of the much-awaited Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is still five months away which gives all the franchises a lot of time to get their combinations in the desired shape for the big challenge ahead. All the teams prefer to reconsider the plans and strategies before the start of the season.

The three big names of Bangladesh cricket – Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim and Mashrafe Mortaza are all set to switch loyalties this time around. The opener Tamim represented Chittagong Vikings in the previous season, while wicketkeeper-batsman and Test captain Mushfiqur played for the Barisal Bulls and the ODI skipper Mashrafe was the captain of the Comilla Victorians. Only all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan (Dhaka Dynamites) and right-handed batsman Mahmudullah Riyad (Khulna Titans) will continue their association with their existing teams.

Trouble for Victorians

If captain Mortaza wishes to change his team, it would prove to be a big problem for the Victorians. The Bangladeshi fast bowler has led the franchise for the past 2 years and is an important member of the team. It would be very difficult for them to replace the veteran skipper.

While there is also some good news for the Victorians as Tamim Iqbal is all set to join them for the upcoming season of the BPL. He has already given his oral consent to the franchise while the formalities are yet to be completed.

Musfiqur’s differences with the Barisal Bulls Owner

It was largely reported that things are not going well between Mushfiqur and Barisal Bulls owner Abdul Awal Choudhury. Their controversial chapter is the main reason for the wicketkeeper’s decision to switch teams. Amidst all the talks, some reports suggest that Mushfiqur has been in touch with the “Rajshahi Kings” for the last couple of months, and soon the franchise will officially announce his appointment.
