Bangladesh fast bowler Taskin Ahmed has become a subject of racism slur after he tied the knot with his childhood friend just after arriving from South Africa. Taskin got married to Sayeda Rabeya Nayeem. As the 22-year-old fast bowler got married some of his fans vent their anger on him.
He was the heartthrob of many Bangladesh girls, hence they are now venting their frustration on him. Many of his fans made racist comments about his wife. After reading those comments he became very sad. As the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2017 started on November 4, he was busy training for Chittagong Vikings at the Sylhet International Stadium. After the practice session, he faced the reporters and replied to them regarding the new unpleasant development of his life.
“When I was fielding well in the practice session, the team mates were doing fun with me. They said everything is going well after the marriage. Its good if its really true. To be honest, I am very happy that I married Sayeda, because we were in a relationship of 7 years. I have relation with her when I didn’t even become Taskin Ahmed. I was in class 10 when our relationship began. All in all, I am happy, my parents are happy too,” Taskin said.
Mom and Dad wanted me to get married
He was also asked about his sudden decision to get hitched, he said: “The reason behind this sudden marriage is Mom and Dad wanted me to get married in this home because we will shift to a new apartment soon.”
After Taskin post the photo of his wedding ceremony on his official Facebook page his fans criticized him for marrying a girl who is not good looking. However, he made sure she is not sad about this happening.
“She is not annoyed about facebook. Many people use Facebook, among them, many belong from good family while many belong from bad. They can write many bad things. That’s why we don’t care about what people write.”
Taskin added: “My parents wanted me to get married early. Today or tomorrow, I have to get married anyway, that’s why I got married the day I came home and one more thing, I performed badly in the series, that’s why I should not get married? Does it make any sense? Cricket is part of my life, but not everything.”
For Taskin this BPL is important as he will eye to come back in form.
