There is nothing that is impossible for Rashid Khan. At the age of 22, the Afghanistan spinner has already got the world talking about him. Not only is Rashid Khan one of the best spinners in the world today, he is also very handy with the bat.
The right hander showed his batting skills in the Lahore Qalanders’ victory over the Peshawar Zalmi side. Rashid finished the match with an incredible twirl of his wrists, akin to the ‘Helicopter shot’ and sent the ball sailing over the deep mid-wicket fence for six. And, it has once again caught the attention of the cricketing world.
The official handle of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) tweeted about his shot, and captioned it “SO STYLISH”. And now, England Women’s cricketer and batting legend Sarah Taylor has asked Rashid to teach her the way to play it. The matter does not end there. Rashid Khan already the ‘go to’ man in T20 cricket
Rashid Khan has already emerged as the ‘go to’ man for his national side as well as several franchises around the world, especially in T20 cricket. And, the leg spinner also has a stellar record to show for it.
Rashid has already played 48 T20Is for his country and picked up a colossal 89 wickets, He averages just 12.63 in the format with the ball, and also gives away runs at a miserly economy rate of 6.14. Even in the IPL, Rashid has emerged as a vital cog in the Sun Risers Hyderabad (SRH) bowling setup. The Afghan has played 62 matches in IPL cricket, and has scalped 75 wickets at an excellent strike rate of 19.68.
As far as Sarah Taylor is concerned, she is one of the most decorated batswomen in history. The England wicket keeper has amassed 4754 runs in the ODI format, and has scored her runs at an average of 44.01. Taylor is also the second highest run scorer in T20I’s as well. The right hander has scored 3062 runs, and has scored her runs at an average of 36.02.
