Team India fielding coach R Sridhar contributes INR 4 lakh to combat Coronavirus outbreak

Due to the coronavirus threat, cricket matches all over the globe have been getting delayed. The scheduled tournaments have been either postponed or cancelled due to the outbreak of the dangerous virus. The highly contagious virus has taken the lives of several individuals in India and across the world. At the time of writing, there have been more than 59,000 people who have died due to the COVID-19. More than 11 lakhs have been affected by the virus and the numbers could get higher in the coming days.
In this situation, the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi had decided to call a 21-day lockdown. Amidst the lockdown, there have been many issues which have been faced by the civilians of the nation. However, several famous and well-to-do celebrities have together to provide some aid to poor people. Many from the fraternity of cricket have many healthy contributions. R Sridhar also joined in and made his part of the contribution to the country for fighting against the global pandemic.
R Sridhar donates INR 4 lakhs amid COVID-19 debacle
R Sridhar, the fielding coach of the Indian team, contributed a sum total of INR 4 Lakhs to the coronavirus relief funds. He donated INR 2 lakhs to the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations (PM-CARES) fund. Apart from that, he also contributed INR 1.5 Lakh to the relief funds set by the Telangana state’s Chief Minister. He made another contribution of INR 50,000 to the Secunderabad Cantonment Board.

R Sridhar had played domestic cricket for Hyderabad cricket team from 1989 to 2001. Ramakrishnan Sridhar was the head coach of the Hyderabad team when he was signed up as the fielding coach for the national side. After getting assigned to the coach of fielding coach in 2014, Sridhar had held his place for past five and a half years. Recently, there were talks of appointing a new fielding coach but Sridhar ended up getting an extension to his existing contract.
