This was the 7th edition of the World Cup and most of the countries had gone for bright coloured kits. England was the host nation and their arch-rivals Australia won their second title. Most of the participants had different patterns on their t-shirts and more brands started endorsing the sport. The numbers were introduced for the first time at the back of the jersey and it was represented in black shade.

The Indian team made a slight change in their attire as they increased the yellow shade on the jersey. A diagonal yellow pattern with a black border ran across the chest part. The collar part and the cuff part of the t-shirt followed the suit. Again the Sahara logo was a part of the kit, but the uniform did not look too attractive.
