Team India was termed 'g***u' on Champions Trophy 2017 Wikipedia page an hour ago
It is still unclear how the online encyclopaedia " Wikipedia's " page could be edited and updated with derogatory words.
It is usual that we see a Wikipedia page has been edited by a random person on the Internet, causing widespread anger and misconceptions or even laughter at some instance. The Indian players are currently busy with their Indian Premier League commitments for their respective franchises in the quest for glory until the 21st of May when the final is scheduled.
After the conclusion of the tournament, Team India will fly to the United Kingdom to take part in the Champions Trophy, and defend the title they won in 2013. However, things turned ugly for the team even before they boarded the flight to England, with an anonymous person changing the data on the Wikipedia page of the tournament.
Under the Group B matches schedule on the Wiki page, India was named ‘Country data Indian G***u’ in the match against arch-rivals Pakistan. For India’s match against Sri Lanka later in the tournament, the team was named as ‘Country Data India Di P** Di L**’ causing an outrage on the free space of Internet.
It is unclear as to how the online encyclopaedia ” Wikipedia’s ” page was edited by a Team India hater. The initial response from Indian fans was that it was the work of Pakistan fans who certainly hate the team and the rivals can go down to any extent to deflate the other.
The Indian team is led by one of the world’s best batsmen in the form of Virat Kohli with former skipper MS Dhoni available to guide him in crunch situations. The bowling arsenal has been in some tremendous form throughout the ongoing IPL, with Bhuvneshwar Kumar leading the charts among the wickets takers.
Umesh Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami have been in decent touch both with the ball and in the field. It would take some performance for the oppositions to dislodge Team India from the throne.
