The tall fast baller from Auckland and has proved his worth for the Kiwi side. Since his debut, he has always been in the headlines due to his consistent good performances at the international level. Everyone knows how good he is with the ball but he showed his batting talent too this year.
He played five Test matches this year and scored 105 runs in seven innings with a 30* at a crucial stage when his side needed him the most. With the ball, he picked 27 wickets in 10 innings of the five-Test matches with the bowling average of17.51 and had three five-fors and one ten-wicket haul to his name in 2021.
At the height of 6’8”, he is one of the tallest cricketers in the current lot. He was exceptional in the series in India where he got a bounce from the pitch where there was no help for the pacers. The 26 years old pacer was a key to the success of the Blackcaps this year.

<h3>South Africa – Wiaan Mulder</h3>

Wiaan Mulder had a decent year and was helpful for the Proteas in a few of the Tests. Wiaan Mulder played four of the six Test matches that RSA played and scored 93 runs and picked eight wickets with a bowling average of 21.87. He was decent in 2021. Mulder is likely to get more opportunities as his country is in a hunt for a pace-bowling all-rounder.
He is a strong and a natural stroke player of the cricket ball and has variations to do well in international cricket. He was first seen in the 2016 Under-19 World Cup, where he impressed everyone. It will be nice to see his performance in the upcoming matches vs India.

2021 has been of <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/we-didnt-bat-well-on-one-of-the-flattest-adelaide-surfaces-james-anderson-in-bowlers-defense-after-joe-roots-criticism/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Joe Root </a>only. He was just extraordinary throughout the year. In every series, every match he has performed somehow. His batting performances had been the best in 2021 but he was handy with the ball too. He has scored a huge 1630 runs in 14 games with an average of 62.69 scoring six centuries in 2021. His batting is getting a lot of praise but he was good with the ball too. He has 14 wickets in 2021 which includes a five-for in India. He was brilliant in the India series.
He is one of the few foreign batters who plays spin well. He scored 228 vs India in the first Test match of the series in India. 2021 has shown Joe Root the best graph in his career so far. The English captain broke many records in 2021 like scoring six Test hundreds in 2021.

<h3>India – Ravi Ashwin</h3>

The leading Test wicket-taker of the year, <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/dont-think-hes-had-much-success-in-south-africa-dean-elgar-brushes-off-ravi-ashwin-as-threat-ahead-of-upcoming-series/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ravi Ashwin </a>had a phenomenal year picking up 52 wickets in eight Test matches with an incredible bowling average of 16.23. He was the only bowler in 2021 to reach the 50 wicket mark. He was brilliant in the home Tests.
The finger spinner completed 400 Test career wickets in 2021. He was only the fourth Indian bowler to do so. He even surpassed Harbhajan Singh in the list of highest Test wicket-takers of India. He is now on number three after Anil Kumble and Kapil Dev, and he is not much behind Kapil Dev.
He even scored a hundred in Australia and helped India to draw the third Test of the series in January 2021. The all-round abilities of Ashwin will be needed in the upcoming South Africa series in the absence of India’s premier all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja.

He has incredible numbers in 2021. He is one of the strongest pillars of current Aussie pace attack. In 2021, he became the first baller to take 50 Test wickets with the pink ball.
He has played four games in 2021 in which he has 12 wickets to his name. Everyone knows that he is good with the bat as well, he is doing well with the bat as a lower order batter for quite a few times now. Faheem Ashraf is now becoming a regular feature in the Pakistani Test team. He is consistently doing well and is now a well-known name on the Pakistani cricket circuit. The bowling all-rounder Faheem Ashraf initially aspired to be a fast bowler but has the ability to swing the willow quite well.
In eight Tests 0f 2021, Faheem has 10 wickets to his name. He had a good year with the bat scoring 384 runs with an average of 38.40 and has scored two fifties for his team. He has impressed every Pakistani veteran and has age to his side, to have a nice Test career.
The southpaw is seen as a seam-bowling all-rounder which is quite rare among the South-Asian teams. He had a good amount of success in the domestic circuit and he had a good season while coming into the international side.

Jason Holder is undoubtedly one of the best all-rounders going around and he has shown it in his performances too. He is good with both bat and ball and can win games for his teams using both dimensions. Apart from batting and bowling, he adds another dimension to the team that is captaincy, his captaincy record has been good since he was given this responsibility.
In 2021 he has 22 wickets to his name in eight Test matches with a bowling average of 22.86 and also has a five-wicket haul. With the bat, he has scored 362 runs in 16 innings of eight Tests and has scored two fifties this year. He can score with a good strike rate at the end of the innings and knows the art of batting with the tailenders.
He is a reliable batter and a sharp medium pacer. The added advantage to his cricket is his height. He also has been a good leader and has good captaincy skills. He has now spent a good amount of time with the side and is a big name in <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/england-name-16-man-squad-for-five-match-t20i-series-against-the-west-indies-in-january-2022/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">West-Indian</a> cricket.

<h3>Sri Lanka – Ramesh Mendis</h3>

Ramesh Mendis is a spin bowling all-rounder from Sri Lanka. He made his Test debut in 2021 only and has impressed the audience in his first year in the highest level of cricket. He was brilliant with the ball in 2021 and quite handy with the bat as well.
In four Test matches in 2021, he has 26 Test wickets to his name with a bowling average of 21.53 and has two five-fors and one ten-wicket haul in a Test match. His numbers as a bowler are just par excellence. He had an amazing year and it will be interesting to see how he carries his momentum in the coming years that he got in 2021.
He was reliable with the bat too scoring 100 runs in seven innings which included a 33*. He has brilliant stats in FC cricket scoring more than 2,500 runs and a triple century to his name. He has taken 109 wickets in FC cricket. He is very promising and a good option for Sri Lanka to invest in.
