West Indies were playing Zimbabwe in the Pool B match at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015. They won the toss and elected to bat first, the first strike of the game went into the African teams favour as opener Dwayne Smith departed for a not. From the third ball of the innings it was a Chris Gayle show and his partner Marlon Samuels supported him perfectly to get the team to their highest innings total. In this match Gayle hit the 1st ODI double ton by a West Indian, the very first by a non-Indian and the absolute first in the ICC World Cup history. He scored 215 in that knock as Samuels stayed unbeaten for 133. At the end of 50 over’s WI had put up 372 on the board against 2 wickets. The team hit 19 sixes and 21 fours in this game.
