Bangladesh are in the tenth spot in the list as their captains have scored just five centuries between them during their tenure. The list includes Mohammad Ashraful, Shakib Al Hasan, and Mushfiqur Rahim. It was started by Ashraful in 2008 Asia Cup when he scored a 109 off 126 balls against UAE at Lahore.

Next in the list is Zimbabwe with 9 centuries from their ODI captains. Alastair Campbell was the first to do so when he scored a 145 ball 102 against Australia at Ahmedabad. Alastair has two while Brendon Taylor has five tons to their names. And present Zimbabwe skipper Elton Chigumbura has 2 in his name.

<p>Next in the list is Zimbabwe with 9 centuries from their ODI captains. Alastair Campbell was the first to do so when he scored a 145 ball 102 against Australia at Ahmedabad. Alastair has two while Brendon Taylor has five tons to their names. And present Zimbabwe skipper Elton Chigumbura has 2 in his name.</p>

<p>Interestingly, before Azhar Ali scored a century against Bangladesh., the last Pakistani ODI captain to score a hundred was during the 2010 Asia Cup when Shahid scored a 100 against Bangladesh. Since then Misbah-ul-Haq was their skipper and he doesn’t have an ODI ton to his name. As many as 9 Pakistani ODI captains have scored a combine d total of 11 centuries during their tenure. Apart from Ali, Shahid Afridi, Shoaib Malik, Inzamam-ul-Haq, Ameer Sohail, Rameez Raja, Imran Khan, Saeed Anwar were a part of the list.</p>

David Gower was the first to do so and is followed by Graham Gooch, Naseer Hussain, Andrew Strauss, Alastair Cook, Michael Vaughan, Paul Collingwood, Eoin Morgan etc. Andrew Strauss’ 158 against India at Bangalore is the highest score by an English captain in ODIs.</p>

Arjuna Ranatunga, Sanath Jayasuriya, Marvan Atapattu, Mahela Jayawardene, Kumar Sangakkara, Tillakaratne Dilshan and Angelo Mathews are the captains to do so. Sanath Jayasuriya’s 189 is the highest score by a Sri Lankan captain.</p>

<p>South Africa are in the fourth spot with 22 centuries being scored by just 4 captains during their tenure. It was started by Graeme Smith and Jacques Kallis, AB de Villiers and Hashim Amla followed Biff to enter the list. De Villiers’ unbeaten 162 against West Indies in the recently concluded 2015 World Cup is the highest ever score by a South African Captain. With 116, the South Africans have the highest strike-rate all the countries.</p>
