Teams with most individual centuries in World Cup history: There have been a total of 153 centuries hit in World Cup cricket so far. Most of the countries that have played in the World Cup have managed a hundred at least apart from the first 2-3 World Cup tournaments which were new format for all the teams and they were getting used to it.

Here is the list of teams and the number of hundreds scored by their players in World Cup matches so far.

The one Test nation and the 3 associate members each have a century in the World Cup with Kyle Coetzer scoring 156 for Scotland who have played World Cup in 1999 and 2015. Bangladesh got their first World Cup centurion in Mahmudullah who scored a wonderful 103 against England.
UAE’s Shaiman Anwar scored his country’s first 100 against Ireland. Canada’s John Davison lit up the 2003 World Cup with a then fastest century of World Cup history off 67 balls against West Indies.

The  Irish have managed 4 centuries in 3 appearances in World Cups in 2007, 2011 and 2015. Their highest score is Jeremy Bray’s 115 against Zimbabwe at Kingston in 2007 World Cup. Netherlands have been more impressive with centuries in their first appearance in 1996 and then in 2003, 2007 and 2011. Their highest scorer is Klaas-Jan van Noortwijk who scored 134* against Namibia in the 2003 World Cup.

Zimbabwe have been part of the World Cups since 1983. They also have 5 centuries in World Cups, with Craig Wishart’s 172* against Namibia in 2003 World Cup being the highest. Zimbabwe’s Andy Flower scored a century on ODI and World Cup debut against Sri Lanka in 1992 World Cup. He scored 115*.

They have 11 hundreds in the World Cups with Andrew Strauss’ 158 against India in the epic match of 2011 World Cup being the highest.

Both New Zealand and Pakistan have 13 centuries each in the World Cup matches. The highest score by any New Zealand batsman has been Glenn Turner’s 171* against East Africa in the 1975 World Cup. While for Pakistan, Imran Nazir’s 160 against Zimbabwe in 2007 World Cup is the highest in World Cup history.

They have made it to the semifinals of almost every tournament since then and have been the most dominating teams in the World Cup cricket in recent times. Gary Kirsten holds the record for the highest score for the South Africa in the World Cup tournaments. He scored 188* against UAE in 1996.

But after 1995, they have been in constant state of decline due to conflicts between their cricket board and players. But still they are a force to be reckoned with as they have 17 centuries in World Cups for them. The highest came in the 2015 World Cup when Chris Gayle hit the first ever double hundred in World Cup history. He scored 215 against Zimbabwe.

Sri Lanka debuted in the World Cups in 1975 but came into their own in 1996 where they surprised everyone by winning the tournament out of nowhere. 21 centuries have come in World Cup matches from the bat of Sri Lankan batsmen. The highest score came from Tillakaratne Dilshan who scored 161* against Bangladesh in the 2015 World Cup.

They won the match and went on to win the trophy as well. India won the World Cup again in 2011 under MS Dhoni. The highest individual score for India in World Cups is Sourav Ganguly’s 183 against Sri Lanka in 1999 World Cup.

The highest individual score for Australians in the World Cup is David Warner’s 178 against Afghanistan in the 2015 World Cup edition.
