<strong>Teams with most wins in IPL: </strong>In the seven seasons that have been played in the Indian Premier League (IPL) we have had as many as 11 teams. A few quit amid disputes, while other franchises were either dissolved or taken over. And at the moment for the season 8 of the IPL we have 8 participating teams to fight for the championship in 2015.

While a few came and were washed off, the major teams continue to participate and extract the best out of their squads at the IPL. Here is a move to list and rank the teams with most number of wins in IPL.

<strong>13. Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS) &#8211; 5:</strong>

One of the two debutant teams of IPL-9, Rising Pune Supergiants gave a promising start to the season by defeating the defending champions Mumbai Indians in the opening game. RPS has lost it&#8217;s next successive 4 games and won the 6th game of the season against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. In the 14 games, they played so far, 5 of those were on winning side &amp; 9 of them were defeats.

The shortest lived team in the history of the IPL is Kochi Tuskers Kerala, they promised a lot at the start of the IPL 2011, but was down in one. KTK had a decent squad but again assessing and judging a team just for the performances in one season cannot give a fair idea of how good or bad they were. In all they played 14 mandatory matches in the 4<sup>th</sup> season of the tournament and they could win only 6 of those and thus could not advance any further in the race.

<strong>11. Gujarat Lions &#8211; 9</strong>

The other debutant team of the 9th season of IPL, Gujarat Lions had a brilliant start to the season with the hat-trick of victories thanks to their opener Aaron Finch bagging 3 fifty-plus scores and 3 player of the match awards in the first 3 games of the season. Their winning trot came to an end when SRH won against them. Overall, GL have played 14 games so far, winning 9 of them &amp; losing 5 games.<br>

<strong>10. Pune Warriors (PWI) – 12:</strong>

Subrata Roy Sahara bought the Pune Franchise in the Indian Premier League to strengthen his grip over Indian cricket. After his team had played a couple of seasons a tussle with the BCCI bosses and this big man saw their journey come to an end. PWI in their 46 matches stay could not achieve anything substantial and if there is something this team will be truly remembered for is being at the receiving end when Chris Gayle stormed 175* playing for the RCB. PWI could only win 12 matches in the league.

Deccan Chargers is a thing of past in the IPL, they could meet the terms of the League for only 75 matches. DC found right players to take suitable roles; Adam Gilchrist, Rohit Sharma and Andrew Symonds powered this team which was under the underdog’s level to win the IPL. DC has won 29 games in their IPL life and the win percentage is somewhere around 38.66. Though these are not numbers to be proud of, but the trophy they won in 2009 is surely something worth a memory.

As the organizers disapproved the existence of the DC, due to dues between the management and the BCCI, the SRH team came into existence. They have had a rather short stay in the league to be assessed. But whatever cricket we have seen from the Sunrisers boys is quite encouraging, it is just the difference of clicking the right balance and they can force themselves better in the champions’ race. SRH has won 31 matches after having played 58.

Delhi Daredevils had players like David Warner, Aaron Finch, Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir in their top order and every season one was forced to rate them as favorite at the start of every year of IPL. But they could never strike a balance and combination in the XI that gave them the decisive edge. DD has remained unbeaten, looked untouchable on more than once in different seasons but fail to leave a mark when it matters the most. DD has played 132 matches off which they have only managed to win 56.

Rajasthan Royals right from the first season till today continue to be the underdogs, they had a squad led and coached by Australian spin wizard Shane Warne. Many thought the Jaipur based team will find it difficult to leave a mark in the tournament; Warne and RR defeated all odds and came out strong to win the first season of the tournament. Though they have never won it again but continue to remain a competitive unit even today. RR have won 63 matches from 118 in their IPL journey thus far.

This team from Punjab the Kings XI Punjab have always continued to be among the prime contenders to win the IPL trophy but have never managed to do so in the seven years. The closest they came to the dream was last season but were beaten by KKR in the final. KXIP has featured in 133 matches in the Indian T20 league from which they have been successful on 63 occasions.

<strong>4. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) – 67:</strong>

Gautam Gambhir’s team has won 67 matches from the 130 matches they have been a part of.

RCB is that team in the IPL which has all it takes to win, they have match winners in the team, a bench which looks brighter than most XIs, an aggressive, young skipper, opener as explosive as Chris Gayle, names like Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers in the middle order, what is missing along with their name is the IPL champions status. They have always had the arsenal but, all their guns have never fired when it matters the most, RCB have been a part of the final match on multiple occasions but have never cleared the final hurdle. They have won, 68 matches out of 137.

The CSK is not only the most consistent team in the IPL but one of the top ranked teams globally. This team led by Indian skipper MS Dhoni has time and again proved they know what it takes to come out every season with similar intent and energy and to keep winning matches after matches and trophies after trophies. They have 79 wins under their name in the IPL from the total 132 that they have played. Along with that they have won the title twice.

The Mumbai based franchise MI owned by the Richest Man in India RIL Chairman Mr. Mukesh Ambani was the franchise sold for the highest bid price. MI had big players in their squad right from the start of the IPL. They have had various skippers in iconic player – Sachin Tendulkar, Harbhajan Singh, Ricky Ponting and Rohit Sharma. The team found the leader and success they were looking for under the youngest captain they have had Rohit. MI has won 80 matches in IPL out of 140 matches that they have played.

MI had big players in their squad right from the start of the IPL. They have had various skippers in iconic player – Sachin Tendulkar, Harbhajan Singh, Ricky Ponting and Rohit Sharma. A few quit amid disputes, while other franchises were either dissolved or taken over. And at the moment for the season 8 of the IPL we have 8 participating teams to fight for the championship in 2015.</p>
<p>While a few came and were washed off, the major teams continue to participate and extract the best out of their squads at the IPL. Here is a move to list and rank the teams with most number of wins in IPL.</p>

<p>One of the two debutant teams of IPL-9, Rising Pune Supergiants gave a promising start to the season by defeating the defending champions Mumbai Indians in the opening game. RPS has lost it&#8217;s next successive 4 games and won the 6th game of the season against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. In the 14 games, they played so far, 5 of those were on winning side &amp; 9 of them were defeats.</p>

<p>The shortest lived team in the history of the IPL is Kochi Tuskers Kerala, they promised a lot at the start of the IPL 2011, but was down in one. KTK had a decent squad but again assessing and judging a team just for the performances in one season cannot give a fair idea of how good or bad they were. In all they played 14 mandatory matches in the 4<sup>th</sup> season of the tournament and they could win only 6 of those and thus could not advance any further in the race.</p>

<p>The other debutant team of the 9th season of IPL, Gujarat Lions had a brilliant start to the season with the hat-trick of victories thanks to their opener Aaron Finch bagging 3 fifty-plus scores and 3 player of the match awards in the first 3 games of the season. Their winning trot came to an end when SRH won against them. Overall, GL have played 14 games so far, winning 9 of them &amp; losing 5 games.<br>

<p>Subrata Roy Sahara bought the Pune Franchise in the Indian Premier League to strengthen his grip over Indian cricket. After his team had played a couple of seasons a tussle with the BCCI bosses and this big man saw their journey come to an end. PWI in their 46 matches stay could not achieve anything substantial and if there is something this team will be truly remembered for is being at the receiving end when Chris Gayle stormed 175* playing for the RCB. PWI could only win 12 matches in the league.</p>

DC found right players to take suitable roles; Adam Gilchrist, Rohit Sharma and Andrew Symonds powered this team which was under the underdog’s level to win the IPL. DC has won 29 games in their IPL life and the win percentage is somewhere around 38.66. Though these are not numbers to be proud of, but the trophy they won in 2009 is surely something worth a memory.</p>

<p>As the organizers disapproved the existence of the DC, due to dues between the management and the BCCI, the SRH team came into existence. They have had a rather short stay in the league to be assessed. But whatever cricket we have seen from the Sunrisers boys is quite encouraging, it is just the difference of clicking the right balance and they can force themselves better in the champions’ race. SRH has won 31 matches after having played 58.</p>

<p>Delhi Daredevils had players like David Warner, Aaron Finch, Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir in their top order and every season one was forced to rate them as favorite at the start of every year of IPL. But they could never strike a balance and combination in the XI that gave them the decisive edge. DD has remained unbeaten, looked untouchable on more than once in different seasons but fail to leave a mark when it matters the most. <p>Rajasthan Royals right from the first season till today continue to be the underdogs, they had a squad led and coached by Australian spin wizard Shane Warne. Many thought the Jaipur based team will find it difficult to leave a mark in the tournament; Warne and RR defeated all odds and came out strong to win the first season of the tournament. Though they have never won it again but continue to remain a competitive unit even today. RR have won 63 matches from 118 in their IPL journey thus far.</p>
