The remainder of the IPL 2021 is all set to resume in the UAE from September 19. Ahead of the start of the second leg of the tournament, the IPL franchises had to put their thinking hats on to replace players in the side. Quite a few players have opted to pull out from the tournament owing to varied reasons. Thus the teams have roped in replacements for them. South Africa’s spinner Tabraiz Shamsi is all set to feature for the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2021.

In T20 cricket, Shamsi is currently the number one ranked bowler. He has replaced Australia’s Andrew Tye in the Royals’ squad. Shamsi will join the fellow Proteas players Chris Morris, David Miller, and Gerald Coetzee in the Royals’ squad in the IPL.

The official Twitter handle of the Rajasthan Royals posted a few pictures of David Miller and Tabraiz Shamsi. They captioned the post as: “So @shamsi90, who will be your best friend in the #RoyalsFamily? @DavidMillerSA12| #HallaBol”

David Miller thus replied to the post in a rather interesting manner. He added pictures from the movie Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, which read, “Tera Yaar Hoon Main”. This reply from Miller having a background of a Bollywood movie entertained the fans and followers. They were amazed by the fact that the South African batter brought up a dialogue from a Hindi movie as the reply.

Shamsi has previously featured in the Indian Premier League. He has played four matches earlier for the Royal Challengers Bangalore wherein he scalped three wickets in the 2016 edition of the tournament. The Royals have also signed Glenn Phillips as a replacement for Joss Buttler. Phillips has a good form by his side after a successful stint at The Hundred.

The Rajasthan Royals currently find themselves in the sixth position of the points table. Out of the seven games that they have played in the Indian leg of the IPL, the team has secured victory in three matches. Rajasthan Royals will resume their campaign on September 21, when they will battle it out against Punjab Kings in Dubai.
