Bangladesh’s tour of New Zealand cancelled
Bangladesh team was due to play the third Test against New Zealand at Christchurch that would have commenced on 16 March 2019. But, the boards of both the nations decided to call this tour off after the attacks. The cricketers went to one of the mosques to offer their Friday prayers.
However, they were lucky since they got there after the firing began. The team went back to the stadium and were in the dressing room of the Hagley Oval. Tamim Iqbal, who was there during all this happening termed the incident as ‘frightening’. Fortunately, none of the cricketers or the support staff was injured during the incident. The entire team was flown back home ending the tour mid-way. Cricketers and eminent personalities from all around the globe condemned these attacks.
