Speaking about this particular tweet by the former England captain, Akash Ambani, who is one of the owners of the franchise and has been closely associated with the working of the team said as quoted by Times of India, “That was the best comment I saw the whole day.”
This is the best we’ve played in 13 years: Akash Ambani
Rohit Sharma & Co. were arguably the best team of IPL 2020 and rightly deserved to win the title. They were the first franchise to qualify for the second stage of the league and had finished at the top of the points tally with 18 points in their bag from 14 games. Moreover, MI was the only team to have not lost two matches consecutively in IPL 2020.
Akash Ambani was ecstatic and proud of his team’s performance in the cash-rich league. He feels that this is the best MI has played in their 13-year history in the league as they were exactly able to perform the way they had planned to.
“Our record in terms of wins and losses are the same as last year. But in terms of the quality of cricket played, this season was incredible. From what our plan for the season was and what we managed to execute on the field, I’d say we were in the 95 to 98% range. This is the best we’ve played in 13 years,” said Akash.
