The 15 member Indian Cricket Team for ICC World Cup 2015: The Indian selectors sat down in Mumbai for the toughest task of the year and have picked the 15 best cricketers from the country to represent the nation with a Billion hopes. The Indian cricket team for the ICC World Cup 2015 has been announced and MS Dhoni has been given 14 men along to defend the World Cup title they won in 2011, in the World Cup 2015 in Australia and New Zealand.
Indian team has been quite consistent in the limited overs format and has done well to prepare a core unit for the last couple of years. The team revolves around Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane and Rohit Sharma at the top.
Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu and MS Dhoni hold the middle order together and will have the responsibility to take care of most of the scoring as Indian top order has done well in parts. And when it comes to these four players they have enjoyed supreme form over the last year or so.
These four men Virat, Raina, Rayudu and Dhoni will be the key for the Indian team as the skipper and Indian team management love batting second considering the weaker organ there bowling attack has been.
The bowlers though not big on experience look good with Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammad Shami taking the swing bowlers role. Ishant Sharma being the work horse, the spearhead and the most consistent of them all though he needs to replicate his test discipline in the limited overs format as well.
So here are the 15 players the Indian selectors have picked to defend the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 for the country:
MS Dhoni (Captain, Wicket-keeper), Virat Kohli (Vice Captain), Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu, Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, Ravindra Jadeja, Stuart Binny, Umesh Yadav, Mohammad Shami, Ishant Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar
