Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf has been ‘honoured’ with a signed jersey from former Indian captain MS Dhoni. The speedster took to Twitter on Friday (January 7) and expressed his glee after receiving the gift. Notably, Rauf received Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings (CSK) jersey which had the talismanic cricketer’s signature. The fast bowler also thanked CSK team manager Russell Radhakrishnan for his gesture.
Meanwhile, Rauf, who made his international debut in 2020, has made a name for himself. The right-arm pacer can set the speed-gun on fire and the bucket of variations in his arsenal makes him even more lethal. Owing the same, the pacer didn’t take long in becoming a vital cog of Pakistan’s limited-overs team. He also was instrumental in taking Pakistan to the semi-finals of the 2021 T20 World Cup.
Haris Rauf overwhelmed after receiving MS Dhoni’s jersey
Like most young cricketers around the world, Rauf is also a Dhoni fan and that was evident in his latest social media post. “The legend & capt cool @msdhoni has honored me with this beautiful gift his shirt. The “7” still winning hearts through his kind & goodwill gestures. @russcsk specially Thank you so much for kind support,” tweeted Rauf while sharing the picture of the signed jersey.
Reacting to Rauf’s post, Russell Radhakrishnan said Dhoni always completes his promises. “When our captain @msdhoni promises he delivers , glad you love it champ #whistlepodu @ChennaiIPL,” wrote the CSK manager while reacting to Rauf’s post. Meanwhile, Dhoni was last seen in the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which saw CSK lifting the prestigious title for the fourth time.

While Dhoni couldn’t do much talking with the bat, the 40-year-old’s précised strategies and tactics helped CSK throughout the competition. Owing to the same, CSK retained him prior to the 2022 mega-auction for a whooping INR 12 crore. Hence, the former Indian international is set to take the field in the 15th edition of the gala competition.
On the other hand, Rauf is currently gearing up for the 2022 edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), where he represents Lahore Qalandars. The tournament will get underway on January 27.
