The Aussies will have a tough time dealing with the Indians, says Michael Clarke
The Kangaroos will lock horns against the Indians in a five-match ODI series which will be followed by a three-match T20 series in September.
The Indian team is currently on a roll because of their dominant form in all the formats of the game. They had a stellar Champions Trophy campaign but could not cross the final hurdle against Pakistan. They went to thump the West Indies in their own backyard in a One Day series, before moving on to Sri Lanka. However, they lost the single T20 game they played against the West Indies following the completion of the ODIs.
The main story:
India maintained their incredible form in the Test format by completing a whitewash over the Sri Lankans in the 3 match Test series. In two out of their three wins, India won by an inning. Former Aussie skipper Michael Clarke believes that the mixture of the losses and the wins will help India get stronger as a team and will work for them in the future.
“Beating India will be tough as they not only want to win but they have learned to lose too. They are going full steam ahead and will be a wonderful experience to beat the hosts,” he added.
The Kangaroos will lock horns against the Indians in a five-match ODI series which will be followed by a three-match T20 series. September 17 will mark the beginning of the ODI battle and James Faulkner will replace Mitchell Starc for the games as the latter will be given a period of rest during the series.
Australian batting legend Michael Hussey compared Virat Kohli’s captaincy to that of the iconic Ricky Ponting last week. When asked about the same, Michael Clarke stayed away from making any comments. He said that he has not played under Virat Kohli so he can’t compare the both. Clarke went on to flatter Virat Kohli and said that there is no need to compare the Indian skipper with anyone.
