Issues of team ethics and mutual trust were cited as reasons for sacking the batsmen. It was evident that KP did not get any support from England captain Alastair Cook. KP played 100 plus test matches for England and scored 8000 plus runs. Later in the year, KP came up with his autobiography and lashed out at Coach Andy Flower and team-mate Matt Prior. Since then KP has not featured for English team but has not stopped playing Cricket. KP still plays in IPL and Big Bash league. England might have dropped KP to build a fresh environment in the team but have not been able to produce the kind of results they wanted especially in ODIs as they miss the impact player in KP. It was a contest keenly followed by all the fans across the globe as the world’s two best sides were pitted against each other. Australia drew the first blood and won the first game to go one up in the series but South Africa came back well to win the next game. In the third and final game Australia pressed on the paddle to win the series 2-1. David Warner hit three centuries and two half centuries in his six innings to prove his metal as Test batsman. Another critical factor for Australia was Mitchell Johnson’s explosive bowling. He was too hot to handle even for talented South Africans. Sri Lanka wins Test series in England Sri Lankan captain Angelo Mathews was the star performer with his batting and bowling skills and also won accolades for his captaincy. While the first game was a thrilling draw as Sri Lanka managed to sneak a draw with one wicket to spare but in the second game, England faced a similar task of drawing the game on the last day but Sri Lanka managed to pick up all English wickets with two balls to spare. Sri Lankan captain Angelo Mathews was the star performer with his batting and bowling skills and also won accolades for his captaincy. Whole of the cricketing world was stunned when the three national boards of India, England and Australia took powers in their hands aiming for major share of revenues worldwide. In addition to revenues, this meant ICC will just act as a puppet of these three boards. Phil was hit on the back of his head by a bouncer from NSW pacer Sean Abbott in a Sheffield Shield game. The world was marooned was by the death of Phil Hughes and paid emotional send off to the young man. Phil was all set for a recall to national side for the Border Gavsakar Trophy but destiny had planned something else.
