The fairytale love story of Shakib Al Hasan and his wife will sweep you off your feet

Cricketers are mostly renowned for their prowess in the cricket-field. However, apart from their professional career, their personal life is also worth a mention and is no less intriguing than their profession. Shakib-al-Hasan is one of the greatest all-rounders to have played the game for Bangladesh and he is currently married to Umme Ahmed Shishir, a model from Bangladesh.

Shishir was born in 1989 in Narayanganj, Bangladesh, which is located near the capital city of Dhaka. At the age of eight years, her family moved to the United States of America (USA). Shishir graduated from the Minerva University and is currently a software engineer. Her jaw-dropping looks grabbed many eyeballs and subsequently she was showered with modeling offers. However, she kept declining each of them.

However, she finally made her debut when she acted in a TVC advertisement of Banglalink, one of the largest cellular services in Bangladesh. She featured along with Shakib-al-Hasan in the advertisement and it instantly went viral on the social media. They also featured in a couple of more commercials for Banglalink and were made the brand ambassadors of the mobile operators.

The Shakib-Shishir journey

Shakib Al Hasan became the first ever Bangladesh cricketer to earn a county stint in England when he was selected to play for Worcestershire in 2010. During the same period, Shishir was present there for her study purposes. Their journey as a couple began when they started seeing each other during that time. Gradually, with the passage of time, they fell in love and finally pledged ones troth on December 12, 2012.

They kept their relationship under the wraps for their initial three years after which they made it public and tied the knots in a five-star hotel.
