The Global Zalmi League featuring 16 teams gets underway in Ajman
The Chairman of Peshawar Zalmi, Mr Javed Afridi expressed his immense satisfaction with the developments and welcomed the teams to Ajman.
The Global Zalmi League will kick off in Ajman, United Arab Emirates today. The league which will witness the participation of 16 teams is owned and being organized by the Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Peshawar Zalmi. Darren Sammy and other superstars will be present for the semi-final and final of the T20 tournament. Many overseas cricketers from India and Pakistan are going to be a part of the league.

The Chairman of Peshawar Zalmi, Mr Javed Afridi expressed his immense satisfaction with the developments and welcomed the teams to Ajman. He expressed his hope that the fans will get to see some really good cricketing action in this league. The tournament will act as an ideal preface to the Pakistan Super League, i.e. the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) domestic T20 league.
The opening match of the series will be played between Dubai and Victoria Zalmi at Eden Gardens, Ajman. The semi-final and final will be held on February 20. The league will give an opportunity to the cricket fans in Ajman to see some high-octane cricketing action.
The event is likely to bring together “Pakistani and Indian overseas cricketers” and “will unite the two nations,” a press release which was issued on Saturday read.
The cricketing world is witnessing a huge advent of T20 leagues around the world and Zalmi League is the latest to join the ever-growing list. It has to be said that the Peshawar Zalmi team, the defending champions in the PSL enjoys a huge fan base worldwide. And the Zalmi League will give a major boost to the franchise.
They also held the Zalmi World Cup before the start of the second edition of the PSL which was immensely successful.
