Cricket is a multi-format sport with Tests being the longest followed by ODIs and T20Is. It’s been a long history that One-Day and Tests have been associated with it for very long. But now, England have taken a new step forward in order to give more excitement to the fans by introducing a 100-ball cricket tournament. And Joe Root has come down with his favourite picks.

This will be the shortest format that is scheduled to take place in 2020. The rules are out with players going into the roaster will be completed on Sunday in the first player draft in British sporting history. Many big players have been associated with this new experimental tournament.

Root advises his franchise to pick Aussie quick and Kiwi skipper

Joe root, who will feature for Trent Rockets, feels that it will be a tough auction amongst all the eight teams. With players like Steve Smith, David Warner, Mitchell Starc, Kane Williamson making it more difficult for the team management.

“You look at the names of the players who have already put their names forward for the draft – the likes of Steve Smith, David Warner, Mitchell Starc, Kane Williamson – it’s guys who have already been extremely successful in franchise cricket around the world and international cricket,” Root said as quoted by Sky Sports.

He also recited that he wants the Australian quick Mitchell Starc and Kane Williamson who is his fellow teammate in Yorkshire should get picked by his franchise, “I’ve played with Starc and Williamson before at Yorkshire, so I’d like to see those guys with us, they’d both be very good signings.” he added.

There were speculations that Root might get picked up in Northern Superchargers but was overlooked by them. English skipper is an exciting talent in World cricket. There can be a chance that he might be appointed as the skipper due to his record.

28-year-old comes under the Best four batsmen in cricket alongside Virat Kohli, Kane Williamson, and Steve Smith. He has featured in as many as 86 Tests, 143 ODIs and 32 T20Is and bagged more than 13,000 international runs across all the formats with 32 tons and 78 half-centuries.
