The Hundred: Marcus Stoinis seemingly accuses Mohammad Hasnain of chucking
Mohammad Hasnain had already been reported for illegal action during his BBL 2022 stint.
Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis seemingly came up with a disappointing act in the Hundred 2022 fixture between Oval Invincibles and the Southern Brave as he allegedly accused Pakistan pacer Mohammad Hasnain of illegal bowling action. Hasnain has had problems with his action in January this year after being reported by an umpire in the Big Bash League. He had to modify his action, and the young speedster was cleared to bowl again recently.
Stoinis was furious after being dismissed for a 27-ball 37 when Hasnain bowled a bouncer, and Stonis was done for the pace as he tried to smack one in the mid-wicket area instead gifting a catch to the mid-off fielder. While returning back to the pavilion, Stonis was spotted seemingly imitating Hasnain’s action to be a chucking one, and many fans are terming it as a disgraceful incident, considering that the 22-year-old had to work hard on his action.
Hasnain has played eight ODIs and 18 T20Is for Pakistan so far, picking up 29 wickets combinedly, and he has an impressive economy rate in the shorter format so far.
Here’s Stoinis reaction to his dismissal in the Hundred 2022
Coming to the game, Oval Invincibles opted to bowl first after winning the toss, and the Southern Brave got to 137 for 6 in the first innings. Stonis was the top scorer with his handy knock, while Tim David’s 22 helped the side to post a decent total. Reece Topley was the pick of the bowlers for the Oval Invincibles with 3 for 24 in his bowling spell, while Hasnain finished with 1 for 27 at 1.80 runs per ball.
In reply, the Invincibles chased down the score in 82 balls despite losing opener Jason Roy early for a duck. Will Jacks was the star batter as he remained unbeaten on 108 off 48 balls with 10 fours and eight sixes in his stunning innings. He ripped apart the bowling attack by consistently finding the boundaries and made a big difference at the top of the order. With the victory, Oval Invincibles moved to the second position with three wins in four games, while Southern Brave have won just one out of their four games so far.
